NWT High Performance Support
The NWTASSA, through their Excel funding from Sport North supports the development of skaters for high performance events such as the Canadian Short Track championships (CSTC) and the Canada Winter Games. Age is calculated as of June 30 prior to the competition.

| Peewee | 6 and 7 years | 111, 222, 333, 500. |
| Bantam | 8 and 9 years | 222, 333, 500, 666. |
| Midget | 10 and 11 years | 333, 500, 666, 777. |
| Juvenile | 12 and 13 years | 500, 666, 777, 1000. |
| Junior | 14 and 15 years | 500, 777, 1000, 1500. |
| Intermediate | 16 and 17 years | 500, 1000, 1500, super 1500 or 3000. |
| Senior | 18 years and over |
500, 1000, 1500, super 1500 or 3000. |
| Masters | 10 year increments from 30 years |
