Officials Development
The NWTASSA is committed to developing highly skilled knowledgeable officials for the sport of speed skating and follows Speed Skating Canada's Officials Certification Program. As part of this program, the NWTASSA is qualified to certify officials at Levels 1 and 2. Certification at these levels typically includes a theory course followed by a practical during a competition.
From time to time, on an as needed basis, the NWTASSA delivers officials training courses to interested club volunteers. Clubs are encouraged to request officials training when needed. For parents of speed skaters, this is an excellent way to get involved in your child's activities, and a great way to have fun at the rink!
